A Small Thing to be Thankful For

The title to this week’s message is an attitude I conjured up a long time ago to help me cope with the major disappointments in life.

The concept is simple. Look for anything, no matter how small or inconsequential, to be thankful for. It’s a concession of sorts that possessing a sense of gratitude is liberating to the soul.

It certainly beats an unyielding commiseration over what you cannot change.

My pursuit of excellence in some form has focused on renovating my website in order to compliment my new ambition to publish my writings using my Substack account.

The renovation effort is going painfully slow, but my Substack postings are going as planned.

Part of my strategy was to use the discipline of posting twice weekly to spur on further writing for a project started some fourteen years ago. That strategy has worked thus far. New material is being added as I flesh out old concepts in keeping with my original vision for this literary masterpiece.

But that’s not the result prompting this message. What is, is the fact that I have gained two new subscribers for a project, which does not conform to any solicitation practices. My new readers self-select, which is an integral part of my non self-promoting strategy for all of life.

So… two out of three ain’t bad after all and for that I am doubly thankful.
